I have bacterial vaginosis, could this cause my boyfriend to get red itchy bumps on his gentials and penis after we have sex? Or could it be that he has bacterial vaginosis?
Is there a over the counter medicine my boyfriend can get it to cure it? Or once i am cured, will he not get it again?

I have been having a burning feeling inside the inner labia just under the clitoris. It sometimes looks a little red and sometimes it does not. I recently took Diflucan and that didn’t help. Now I am noticing a slightly thick, milky discharge. I’m starting to wonder if it could be bacterial vaginosis. Would BV cause burning in the clitoral area without causing burning in and around the vagina?

Bacterial Vaginosis is a quite common medical condition, mostly occurring to women at childbearing age. This is essentially an imbalance between good and bad bacteria in the women’s vagina, whereby the amount of bad bacteria surpasses the amount of good bacteria.
Bacterial Vaginosis manifest itself in an unpleasant odor vaginal discharge, and may also be accompanied with itching and irritation. You can read more about the disease itself at Bacterial Vaginosis FAQ
The best way to know for sure if you have bacterial vaginosis is to contact your doctor, and ask for a medical test.
Provided you do have bacterial vaginosis, the doctor will probably prescribe you some antibiotics to treat it. Sometimes vaginal gels or creams are prescribed. However, there are also some remedies for bacterial vaginosis that you can find over the counter, although it is sometimes agued that most of these over the counter remedies for bacterial vaginosis are not clinically tested for effective treatment of bacterial vaginosis. You should therefore consult with the pharmacist regarding the right OTC remedy, if you are considering to buy one of them.
Some remedies for Bacterial Vaginosis that you can find over the counter include: tea tree oil suppositories or douches, or grapefruit seed extract to be used in douches, but here you have to be sure that you fully understand how to use them, because direct contact with the tender vaginal lining might cause an allergic reaction, so be sure to ask the pharmacist exactly how to apply those substances before you use them! It is also suggested that consumption of organic yogurt, rich in acidophilus, can help treat bacterial vaginosis, and also consumption of garlic, which has anti-fungal as well as anti-bacterial properties.
