how-to-get-rid-of-hemorrhoidsGenerally speaking hemorrhoids are a common medical condition in which the veins around the anus or the lower rectum get swollen and inflamed.

You should also note that there are many other conditions, such as fistulae or abscesses, which are erroneously referred to as hemorrhoids, but are actually a different condition. You can read more about what is hemorrhoids & how to treat hemorrhoids.

In attempting to get rid of hemorrhoids, there are some things you could try:

•    Taking warm bath tabs a few times a day.
•    Take some pain relieving medications to relieve the pain associated with the hemorrhoid. Ask the pharmacist what is his best recommendation for such cases.
•    Apply some ice, to cool the area down. Some cold compresses will do fine too.
•    Don’t use toilet paper. Get some soft, wet tissues and use them instead. You will find that there are some wet tissues specifically designed for alleviating the discomfort associated with hemorrhoids, which contain natural ingredients.
•    If you find that the above measures did not cause the hemorrhoids to go away, it is advisable you see a doctor. Note that in mild cases he might advise you to take some OTC products. Indeed, in many pharmacies you will see that there are some over-the-counter creams, ointments, suppositories and pads, to treat hemorrhoids. some of these OTC products contain some natural ingredients that could relive the pain and itching, such as witch hazel for example.
•    If the hemorrhoids that you suffer from are bleeding and cause you pain and much discomfort, your doctor might recommend a small invasive procedure, which may include either Rubber band ligation, injection of a chemical into the hemorrhoid, or some laser or heat techniques, causing the hemorrhoids to dry up.
•    For more serious hemorrhoid conditions, a surgical procedure might be advised.

Bacterial Vaginosis Information

bacterial-vaginosis-treatmentBacterial Vaginosis is a quite common medical condition, mostly occurring to women at childbearing age. This is essentially an imbalance between good and bad bacteria in the women’s vagina, whereby the amount of bad bacteria surpasses the amount of good bacteria.

Bacterial Vaginosis manifest itself in an unpleasant odor vaginal discharge, and may also be accompanied with itching and irritation. You can read more about the disease itself at Bacterial Vaginosis FAQ

The best way to know for sure if you have bacterial vaginosis is to contact your doctor, and ask for a medical test.
Provided you do have bacterial vaginosis, the doctor will probably prescribe you some antibiotics to treat it.  Sometimes vaginal gels or creams are prescribed. However, there are also some remedies for bacterial vaginosis that you can find over the counter, although it is sometimes agued that most of these over the counter remedies for bacterial vaginosis are not clinically tested for effective treatment of bacterial vaginosis. You should therefore consult with the pharmacist regarding the right OTC remedy, if you are considering to buy one of them.

Some remedies for Bacterial Vaginosis that you can find over the counter include: tea tree oil suppositories or douches, or grapefruit seed extract to be used in douches, but here you have to be sure that you fully understand how to use them, because direct contact with the tender vaginal lining might cause an allergic reaction, so be sure to ask the pharmacist exactly how to apply those substances before you use them! It is also suggested that consumption of organic yogurt, rich in acidophilus, can help treat bacterial vaginosis, and also consumption of garlic, which has anti-fungal as well as anti-bacterial properties.
